I am having a good experience with Plentyoffish.com which is a completely free site (unlike some that advertise that you can sign up for free, so you go to all the trouble of creating your profile but then find that you can't contact anyone until you send money).





This site has the facility to search for people with similar interests by the use of keywords, and they have forums where you can get lots of advice about writing your profile. They organise free singles events also and I find it a very friendly and helpful site.





There is no guarantee that the profiles on paid sites are any more serious or genuine than those on free sites, as the paid sites allow people to create profiles for free, and they only screen the ads - no site runs any checks on the people submitting the ads. Aso on paid sites you cannot tell if the person you are writing to is a paid up member or if their subscription has lapsed, so you can waste time writing to people who are unable to reply to you.
